Our Classes

Toddler

Aged

Parent & Me Classes

(Ages 18 months - 2.5 years old)

Our Parent & Me Program is for ages 18 months to 2.5 years of age. This "Parent and Me" system will introduce the child to exercises and activities that develop gross motor skills that can enhance balance, coordination, strength, and self-esteem. Since this class promotes parent participation, the child feels safe and comfortable trying and learning these new skills and exercises which leads to a very simple transition to the Super-Tot Program.

Super-Tot Classes

(Ages 2.5 - 3 years old)

These classes consist of children ages 2.5 years old to 3 years of age that have little to no previous experience or that have progressed through the Mom & Me program.  The parents are encouraged to let the chlid do the class without them in the room at this stage.  This program continues to build on the gross motor skill development through learning to hang, swing, climb, bounce, and very basic tumbling elements.  The focus again is to continue to build on the gross motor skills foundation adding gymnastics elements to those fundamental movements allowing the child to learn how to combine movements to create a gymnastics skill.  Example: step lunge kick toward a handstand.

Combo Classes

(Ages 4 - 6 years old)

This class is a transitional class for the child to further develop specific gymnastics skills, gross motor skills, balance, strength, and coordination that will either take them into the Recreational Program or into the Team Program.  This is the last class in the program that the boys and girls are combined.

Girls Recreational

Girls Level 1

(Ages 6+)

This class is for beginners.  Children in this class will either have advanced from the Combo class or have had very little to no gymnastics experience.  This class focuses on the basics gymnastic skills on the Women's Apparatus.  These basic skills form a foundation for the child.  Our entire program promotes mobility so it is our goal to develop and perfect these basic skills, as well as, keep the child progressing in the program.

Girls Level 2

(Ages 6+)

This class is for children that have mastered the Level 1 skills or are evaluated by the staff and have shown mastery of the fundamental basic skills needed to continue learning.  This is the intermediate class in the recreational program.  This class will follow closely to the USAG Competitive skills that are needed for moving into the Girls Level 3/4 Competitive Programs.  Since not all children have a desire to compete and our goal is to keep the child challenged and learning, once the skills of this level are mastered, they can continue in the Recreational Program to the Level 3, which is the "Advanced" level class.

Girls Level 3

(Ages 6+)

This is the advanced class in the Recreational Program.  This class takes all of the fundamental basic skills learned and mastered in Levels 1 & 2 and begins putting them all together.  For example: on the Floor Exercise, this level would begin taking the round off and combining it with the back handspring and even advancing that to multiple back handsprings or even learning and adding a back flip in a tuck position.  This is the highest level in the Recreational Program and because of that ALL  new students wanting to participate in these classes would need to be evaluated by the coaches and demonstrate mastery of all fundamental basic skills on all the events before being registered into a Level 3 class.

Other Classes

Tumbling

(Ages 6+)

Our Tumbling program is for children 7 years and older. These classes focus soley on the skills needed for the Floor Exercise. Most of our participants are looking forward to or are already involved in a Cheerleading program so MOST of the focus is on teaching round off's, standing back handsprings, standing back flip in tuck position, and combining the round off with the back handspring. In doing so, there are many fundamental basics that must be mastered to accomplish these skills properly.

A portion of the class is spent working drills for handstands, bridges, bridge kick overs, back and front walk overs, cartwheels, and in specific classes, aerial cartwheels.

Boys Level 1

(Ages 6+)

This class is for beginners.  Children in this class will either have advanced from the Combo class or have had very little to no gymnastics experience.  This class focuses on the basics gymnastic skills on the Men's Apparatus.  These basic skills form a foundation for the child.  Our entire program promotes mobility so it is our goal to develop and perfect these basic skills, as well as, keep the child progressing in the program.

Rachel Lasich

Both of my girls take gymnastics here and the classes are great, but what I want to review is the AMAZING summer camp this company offers. Last summer, I had the absolute worst experience with a different camp and decided to try this one this year. I was blown away by how great it was. Staff were fully engaged and my daughters had a blast all day, every day. They made friends and learned skills! The camp also offered before and after camp options for working parents and my kids loved those too. The camp was affordable and I never worried about their safety leaving them there. Using this summer camp was the best decision. THANK YOU SUGAR LAND GYMNASTICS!

Our daughter has been going to Sugar Land Gymnastics for nearly two years. She has thoroughly enjoyed it and has progressed a lot. All coaches have been excellent but I want to specifically mention Coach Rachael since she was her first coach. Coach Rachael is affectionate yet firm, and thus a very effective teacher.

Kevin Best

Sugar Land Gymnastics are the best in Houston. They have a really great program and the coaching excellent. My daughter has been attending for the past 3 years and she is just 7. Hey coach Ms Rachael is very patient, focused, and takes her time with the kids, most importantly, she empowers them to do their best and practice until they get it. The program encourages teamwork and support for each other while striving to do their best. I appreciate all that they do and and am grateful to Coach Rachael for her continued patience and committment to excellence with the kids.
